Spiral wound gaskets with mica fillers

Spiral wound mica gaskets are made out of a metal tape having a special shaped profile, which is joined to a filler tape of expanded mineral mica and both are evenly wound up at a constant winding tension. Gasket build varies according to requirements and needs, but, unlike the classical spiral wound metal gaskets with a graphite or PFTE filler, mica gaskets can withstand very high temperatures, even in oxidising environments.
